Youth did very well this year with scores between 65.7 to 82 percent averages. Congratulations to ALL the teams for all their work. Also we thank them for all their help in making the Technical Rescue Competition happen. --they clean up pretty well also.

Half the group went to the Zoo and the other half went to Churchill Downs. Here is what I have from the zoo.

Competition day- I was judging so I didn’t take photos myself, here are some I just received.

I am getting behind...Tuesday, we had classes, practices, and welcoming ceremonies.

and we had a good time. The Mud Hens turned out to be a good team. Here are some pictures from our outing (and more pictures here). We are practicing hard for competition tomorrow.

The Horse Farm was closed on Mondays so we made it to the Horse Hospital. We were able to observe part of a horse knee surgery.



The kids are pretty tired - some of which was self-inflicted. They are finding dinner and resting until the Louisville Bats game (vs. the Toledo Mud Hens).

We made it, emptied the bus, and we are getting some breakfast. Room assignment will be ready after lunch. I am charging my camera so I hope to have more pictures soon.

We are stopped at an Oasis in Illinois--almost to Indiana since Chicago is behind us. My charged camera battery is under the bus, so I don’t have pictures. Students have been chatting away. We (the adults) are looking forward to quiet time. We will be rolling in early so the drivers are slowing down. We didn’t hit traffic like they expected. We also left on time and haven’t had any delays--the students have been all back on the bus by the time we tell them too!

Just a quick post of pictures of our bus trip. Rajah (age 7) took these. We are near Tomah, WI for dinner. We are headed to Chicago...on the way to Louisville.
